Step confidently into the audition room and discover how to showcase the unique gifts God has given you. Auditioning 101 is designed for performers who are new to the audition process or who want to build a strong professional foundation for success in musical theatre and plays.
Students will learn what directors, choreographers, and music directors look for in an audition while gaining the confidence and practical skills needed to present themselves professionally.
Students will explore:
The complete audition process from start to finish
How to prepare for auditions and callbacks
Slating and making a strong first impression
Choosing age-appropriate audition material
Audition etiquette and professionalism
What to wear for auditions and callbacks
Preparing audition cuts and sheet music
Tips for memorization and preparation
Managing nerves and building confidence
What to expect during callbacks
How casting decisions are made
Throughout the masterclass, students will participate in mock auditions and receive live demonstrations and constructive feedback in a supportive, encouraging environment. By watching classmates audition and participating themselves, students gain valuable insight into both the performer and director perspectives.
Whether you're preparing for your first audition or looking to sharpen your skills, this masterclass will equip you with practical tools, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to shine on stage.

Duration: Two 3-hour classes (6 instructional hours total)
Format: Interactive workshop with live demonstrations, mock auditions, and personalized feedback
Attendance Options: In-person or live via Zoom
Students attending virtually will be able to fully participate in demonstrations, mock auditions, and instructor feedback alongside the in-person class.
